What to include in your invitation suite.
When it comes to designing your wedding invitation suite, there are a few cards that you will want to include to ensure that your guest have all of the details for your special day.
We have created a list of all of our suggested items to include in your invitation suite and a few different options for the individual cards.
Invitation
Your invitation is the main card of your suite. This card will be used to formally invite your guests to your wedding ceremony. Key details to include on your invitation are: the names of you and your fiancé, date, time of ceremony, and wedding venue. Additionally, if you are using a more traditional wording format, you can include the parents names as well.
RSVP or Response Card
Your RSVP or response card is an important detail you will want to make sure you include. This card will be used to collect the information from your guest regarding their ability to attend or not attend your wedding. Additionally, you can add lines for meal preferences and number of guests attending. You will want to make sure to add the date that you would like all of your RSVP’s returned by. We suggest setting the RSVP by date for two (2) months prior to your wedding. If you are using a mail back RSVP card, it is important to include an envelope with paid postage for your guest to use to mail you the RSVP. The RSVP envelope should have your address written on it so that you can make sure that those RSVP’s are delivered back to you.
Enclosure or Details Card
Your details card will be used to provide additional information about the wedding, such as accommodations, transportation, welcome party details, attire information and any special requests that you may have.
Outer envelope
Your outer envelope will hold all of your cards for mailing and will need to have the guests address printed or written on the front. You will want to make sure to include your return address in the top left corner or the reverse side to make sure that any undeliverable invitations get returned to you. This will help to make sure you know if any guest doesn’t receive their invitation so that you can either resend or personally deliver their invitation to them.
While all of the invitation suite items we listed above are the basics to any wedding invitation suite, you can also add additional items to make your wedding invitation unique and personal to who you are as a couple. Our couple love adding details like, envelope liners, silk ribbon bellybands, monogram wax seals, custom illustrations and map cards to their suite. Each of these elements adds a little bit more of your story and makes your invitation suite one to impress and excite your guests.
